IBC Youth Showcase
In an effort to keep one of America’s oldest genres not just alive but thriving, we encourage our youth to grow their musicianship by exploring the Blues genre through composition and performance. The Blues Foundation also values our youth who chose the Blues as a vehicle to express their talent and art by providing opportunity for education and performance. Each year during the IBC, the Youth Showcase highlights youth Blues performers from all over the world giving them an outlet to perform and grow professionally. If you are a youth in a Blues solo, duo or band act interested in representing WNY as part of the IBC’s Youth Showcase, please send a letter of interest describing your Blues act and one video link to email@example.com
The Blues Foundation’s Best Self-Produced CD Competition
Each year, during the IBCs, the Blues Foundation holds an international competition to highlight independent Blues recording artists through the Best Self-Produced CD Competition. Affiliates world-wide submit their local winners to be judged by industry professionals in Memphis. The Winners are announced during the IBC and their recording gets international exposure. If you are looking to have your Blues album recognized internationally and taken to the next level, click HERE to download the application. DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 1, 2017

International Blues Challenge (IBC)
The IBC is a five-day event that includes both band and solo/duo blues music competition, youth and international showcases and seminars. Typically, over 250 (band, solo/duo and youth) acts from 40 states and two dozen countries participate in the four rounds in Memphis. Significantly, the acts cannot enter directly, but are sponsored by one of our 200 affiliated organizations that are so critical to nurturing Blues culture in their own region. These events and awards are a culmination of activities undertaken by our affiliates and serve our mission by providing a vehicle through which they can promote, preserve and ensure the future of Blues music in their region via their own competitions to determine which up-and-coming act they will send to Memphis for a once-in-a-lifetime artistic and educational opportunity. The top acts receive cash prizes, professional services and career-changing gigs, and each year, competitors other than those judged as “winners” are “discovered” and as a result, doors open for their future musical endeavors.
